Brother PPF560 Plain Paper Fax Machine

We set up the Brother PPF560 in minutes without reference to the owner's manual, thanks to a simple design and intuitive operation. Still, to get the benefits of extensive features, we recommend following Brother's well-detailed instructions for programming in its thorough manual. You'll also need that information to remotely retrieve messages, pages, and faxes. We also recommend perusal of the guide for setting up the fax unit on lines with an external answering machine or with numbers that roll over. Note that phone lines using call waiting or voice mail may run into trouble operating this fax unit.

The handset is very lightweight and tapered, and the automatic fax-phone switch lets you make calls and receive faxes through the same phone line. The fax unit lets you know when you have a voice call by emitting double rings. The receiver delivers clear, clean sound. The unit supports caller ID and distinctive ring (when you subscribe through your phone service provider). The automatic document feeder can accommodate 10 pages at a time. The 16-digit LCD displays clear, bright numbers and messages. The ring volume is adjustable from mute to loud, which is fortunate, because the PPF560 has a jarring tone. The phone index for alphabetical search of stored numbers is a great convenience, as is the automatic redial, delayed transmission and hold buttons. • You can make up to 99 copies but the unit holds only 50 sheets

The print quality is OK. We use to have an inkjet based fax machine and it was better.

When your comparing prices on these machines, be sure to add the cost of a replacement cartridge to the purchase price of this one (...)The cartridge that comes with it is only good for about 20-30 pages. I get that much junk fax in a couple of weeks. If you decide to buy this one, get a spare cartridge also.

We use this in a home office set up and only get a few of faxes a day. If you have high volume fax needs, this may not be the machine for you. It’s slow and I’m not convinced that it would hold up very long under high-volume situations.

I really like my fax machine, it do what i need for it to do..my faxes are clear and readable, for the money i couldn't get a better machine and we really needed this ....with problems from time to time with banks, telephone companies, etc.......i can fax and get faxes with no problem and take care of what ever the issue is without the "3 to 10 business days" wait and it's a copier as well....it's great i can copy all important papers etc. before mailing them so i have a copy for my records and all on plain paper .......i really like this machine.

As an owner of a small business, I needed an inexpensive, simple to use fax machine. I only get a fax a week or so, but it has already paid for itself since I don't have to drive over to the office supply store just to fax a few pages. I don't have any complaints about this model at all.

I have had this fax machine for about two years now and have had NO problems with it what-so-ever! I am VERY impressed with this machine and think it is worth every penny. When sending a fax, you can set the resolution to normal, fine, super fine or photo. I have it set up next to my answering machine and also have distinctive ring on it. Has not once missed a fax or picked up a voice call. And, although it doesn't have a collection tray for received faxes, I have it sitting on a side coffee table (next to my answering machine) so that the faxes end up laying in front of it on the table. I've also used the copy feature on it many times and have always been impressed with it. I also bought a new toner cartridge right away as it says the one that comes with it is not full size. I have not had to replace the one I bought yet and still get perfect fax images and it is used fairly frequently.

The fax machine works great! I bought the fax machine back in August 2003 and I haven't had any problems. And you can buy the roll of film cheap on the internet. So if you are considering buying this fax machine, you decided on a good choice.
