multipurpose workhorse November 26, 2003 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
First off, you have to consider how many things this machine is meant to do. It is not primarily a fax machine, although that is one of its functions. In my office, most work is done over the net or snail mail, we don't use the fax much at all. So, for an occational transmission/reception, it works very well. It hasn't failed yet. And as an answering machine, it records and plays clearly. It's easy to use and the speaker phone works well when screening calls. I've had this unit in service for about 1 year, and still have the original film drum in it. Like I said, we are only occational fax users and this unit sits on the line, answers it, takes and sends faxes without a hitch... Granted, the end quality doesn't hold to a laser fax, but it is fine for our operation and priced right!
Great sound, Great performance! March 23, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have found this to be the best fax/answering/speakerphone for the price. I tried the HP 1050, and had to return it (twice) because of poor sound quality. This unit has had no problems with feeding, copying, or sending/recieving faxes. I have used the unit everyday for 2 months, and think it is almost perfect. The speakerphone and answering machine are clear, even at max-volume. If you are like me, and don't like cordless phones, this is your machine. Too bad it doesn't come in black, or it would be perfect. UPDATE: After 2 years of daily use, its still working and sounding great.
Rollers go bad in months November 17, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this fax and originally had a great review of it, I gave it 5 stars too. I have leant a lesson not to review before 3 months. In about 3 months there were very frequent paper jams, there were day we could not send or recive faxes. It turns out the rubber rollers were not picking up the paper. We used good paper too from Xerox.
The tech says we need to get some product to "renew" the rubber, they have gone from black to grey-ish. The fax is in a relatively dust free office. The previous fax was the model before this one, we had it for 8 years, we only changed it because a part broke.
Panasonic Fax September 30, 2008 Great older fax machine with features NOT FOUND on newer machines, such as pager which can call your celephone letting you know you have either a message or a fax.
Good Basic Fax Machine January 27, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have owned this machine for about 3 years and have used it as a home fax machine and have no complaints. Are there better machines available? Yes, but for the money this one is hard to beat. A great asset to my home office. It performs all of its functions very well.
