A different experience August 6, 2005 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
The unit I received from Amazon would not copy. However, my experience with Canon customer service was just the opposite. With no waiting on the phone, I got a rep who determined that the unit was malfunctioning and sent me a new unit which was received in two days along with a paid shipping label to return the first unit. So far the unit works fine and for the price is hard to beat. Not the fastest copier but the quality is pretty good. I was very impressed with the customer service. I bought this because I have been so happy with my Canon i860 printer.
Not too bad for the price September 21, 2005 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have had this machine for a couple of months and it works just fine. The weak point is the answering machine which doesn't have very good sound quality. I like the compact size so it doesn't take up too much desk space. It is fine for the average home office but don't expect top quality functions.
FAX/phone/answering all in one February 23, 2006 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
It's good, it wasn't/isn't that easy to set up but it works well and was a good deal
Canon FaxPhone Inkjet Fax July 2, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I should have paid attention to the 3 stars other people gave this fax. That's all it deserves. It is noisy and slow and hard to program compared to my old Panasonic (which I am going to repair and start using again). Also the telephone receiver is so tiny and has such poor reception it has to be held tight to the ear. Sending a fax takes forever. The first time I sent a fax I thought it had lost the connection as it took so long to go through. If I hadn't already thrown away the packing materials I might have tried to return it. The only good thing is that it's cheap-just under $100, and uses plain paper,no film, so it's better than nothing.
Useless when paper stops feeding September 18, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I use this mainly for an office phone with the occasional incoming or outgoing fax, or to make a few copies. It worked OK to begin with, although the phone quality is not great. But it's extremely touchy about what kind of paper you feed, and finally (after 6 months?) it wouldn't feed any kind of paper--so I can't send faxes or copy anything. I think it still receives faxes, but it ran out of ink quickly. At least, I think it's out of ink; I can't test it, because it won't copy. Tech support was responsive, but their response was that there was no solution other than taking it somewhere to be fixed, which can't be cost-effective. So although this wasn't an expensive machine, it turned out to be a waste of money.
