Good low cost fax machine August 11, 2009 Dave (Portland) 24 out of 24 found this review helpful
This is a good no frills fax machine for home users or a small business with infrequent fax needs. It's a update of the JX-200 (which from what I've read has issues with the paper feed and should be avoided) and cosmetically they look similar (the 200 is black and white and the 210 is all black). The copy, send, and receive quality are all very good. The ink dries quickly with no smudging. The paper feeds easily without jamming or misaligning. It has a USB port for faxing (or printing) from a PC. I has a few other basic features: one touch dialing, caller ID, auto-redial, auto-document feed, and it's got the Energy Star rating. Beyond that there not much more to it.
The main downside is the fax speed: at 14.4 Kb/s it's about half as fast as a 33Kb/s fax. For light users that's no big deal. Who cares if it takes 6 seconds to send a page vs. 3 if you only use it once a week to send three pages? However anyone sending a lot of faxes or very long faxes will probably want to look for a faster model.
Nice to see something work as good as the ad claims December 4, 2009 Michael P. Lefand 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I needed a fax machine to do casual faxing, you know the things that crop up where a fax is essential either for a form to be filled out and sent or copy of an original document is needed and scanning and e-mailing will not do.
The Canon FAX-JX210P Inkjet Fax fit the bill. The price was reasonable and the machine has not disappointed me. I was originally looking at a more expensive fax thinking something as reasonably priced as the Canon FAX-JX210P Inkjet Fax would not meet my expectations.
First off, out of the box it took me no more than a half hour to set up and send a fax. I had no problems following the instructions for the initial setup or for the sending of faxes.
I send on average 3 to 5 faxes a week containing 5 to 10 pages each.
The speed is fast enough for the casual user.
So far no problems after 6 weeks.
I am very pleased and so it gets 5 stars.
Great Fax for the Price November 2, 2009 L. Carbonaro (NY) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This fax is easy to use, directions not too difficult. Holds faxes in memory. Two things I would want to change. Wish it had a bottom tray to hold the paper, its a top feed, but didnt find one I liked as much as this one for the money that had a paper tray. Also it takes a little time to print the confirmation. These two things were not a deal breaker. Faxes are clean and very good quality. Would recommend this to anyone with a small office or for home use.

I had trouble with the setup instructions, but got it all up and running in a couple of hours. It is very easy to use. Build quality is great, much better than I expected. No complaints so far.
A Reliable Machine September 13, 2009 L. Steiner (nj) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This fax machine is a good fit for the casual user. it is attractive, although it is larger than some, and the handset is flimsy. But that's the only downside in my opinion. This machine makes crisp black and white copies and faxes. I've had no problems with paper jams, and I like that it uses regular copy paper. It can hold up to 60 incoming pages in memory, in case your phone is busy, and can hold 20 originals in order to fax multiple pages. It also doubles as a printer for your computer. I recommend this machine.
